Canon FD 55mm f1.2. I’m looking for one and only place I can find one is eBay at around $500 !
Is it worth that kind of money ?
I want to use an EdMika conversion kit on it and use it on my 1d. Kit is $155, but seen very good results with it. So it will end up costing me around $650.
What do you think worth the money, or should I just get an EF ?
Is there anyone here with a FD 55mm f1.2, is it as good as they say ? Anyone with one they want to sell ?

Steve

f/1.2 is going to be hard to manual focus...

f/1.2 will be a serious challenge to manual focus.... But another option is the Nikon version, which I've heard great things about. F to EOS adapters are dirt cheap and they run $400 on ebay - there's one for $350 with an abnormality in one of the elements. May as well pick up a focusing creen with the leftover cash!

Fair price is 300 dollars. I see them on keh.com all the time for that and the bargain grade is a very safe bet (often in a shape I would consider excellent+). -Ed Mika

I had the FL version of the 55mm f1.2 (same thing but older) and loved it. I did not find it too hard to focus wide open on my 7d. If it worked with full frame I would still have it.
