Here is your image after being re-worked PM. Elements 9 brightness/contrast, removed noise, sharpened and cropped a bit tighter.

Your lens produced a strong image. I feel reasonably sure a real pro could do even better than I.

You have the action, the emotion of the moment and the environmental involvement of the weather well captured.

Enjoy your new toy. It will lead you to even better work with each experience.

Not trying to be rude by any means, but this doesn't look good at all. The original would be a far better choice than this. My suggestion is to be careful helping people edit pictures for two reasons, he didn't have Image Editing Ok marked, and from what I see here your editing skills need some work. Love the enthusiasm but be careful of how you edit.

Couldn't agree more.

Yeah, the "edited" one looks horrible. I'll take the original please.

I have just come to believe that if there were a second coming there would be some folks out there unhappy with his dress, rather rough long hair and darker than expected skin tones. The very least any one of you could have done is bring up your holy-er than thou PM with the proof that seems to be missing. I certainly have no time or desire to jump in this barrel again. Maybe I can find a friendly group some other place more likely to be in a helping mood. Bye and as you likely would say....we don't need that!

oh lord  .....bottom line is the user did not have the "image editing OK" designation, nor did they ask you for an edit. Regardless of the quality of an edit, good or bad, you can easily offend a person by modifying their work.

I don't remember the users involved, but there was a thread awhile back where someone posted a portrait of a their wife. Somebody took it upon themselves to soften her skin, remove a mild blemish, and crop off the lower portion of her stomach. Obviously, this is an extreme example of how can offend somebody, but it illustrates that point that you just don't go editing someone's work when they haven't asked for it, or set up their account to allow for it ahead of time.

The frizzy, "kinked" hair on this guy looked like sharpening artifact at first glance. Great images.

Thanks, yeah same thing happened to me when I first opened that shot. They are really bizarre looking animals.

Ken, Did you use a TC on the zoo shots? I have a 1.4X II and wondering if I should upgrade to the 2X III for strictly outdoor use.

Fujifilm X-T3, 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, 80mm f/2.8 OIS Macro, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 OIS, 1.4x TC, Flashpoint R2 Strobes/Flashes

No TC on any of those shots. I probably should have used them though because I had to crop some a little more than I would have liked. It was insanely hot and humid out so I never felt like swapping it in. The shots of the surfers on my Flickr page (in signature) are all taken with 2X III. There's one or two with the 1.4x too come to think of it. I rarely use the 1.4X though. I might sell it.

When it rains, this is completly normal. This lens can focus on a spider web from a far distance - falling raindrops will soften your subject/object.

Hey,
thanks! that is what I was thinking and definately needed the reassurance, I have a few days if I want to exchange it, but I am thinking tomrorow it should be sunny enough i can go hog wild with some better lighting. So I'll post a few more tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.
