OK, now that I'm on my second 60D (see this thread for why) and finally have some free time, I'm back to post a couple of decent shots from my first planned subject.

BTW, I got very few keepers of the band from that evening. Which sub forum is the best place to post some of the losers for some help? Clearly I need to read the manual more

i second to David. You're already in the best place for 60D.

Can you tell us the problems of your shots? You can also post it here to better address the issue.

no need for the manual - by losers do you mean spotty focus - bad lighting or bad composition?

for just pure picture taking all you need to know is iso shutter aperture manual autofocus points reading the histogram and thats about it!

1.) I'm using the 1280x720 @60p
then import it in After effects.
in the project library right-click the video then select interpret footage
then select main....
in the frame rate, change 59.94 to 23.976

voila! you're video is now in slowmo

OR (for a more slow mo like what i did on my video)

2.) I'm using Twixtor Pro plugins for after effects (search twixtor pro in youtube)

i don't use Magic Lanterns... it makes my SexyD act weird.... still not perfect.

cheers!

Thanks Vinz; I loaded ML but after playing with it for about a half-hour, I suddenly lost my auto-focus on the manual modes (Program, TV, AV, etc) and panicked. Removed ML and reinstalled the canon FW and got it back. May or may not install ML again. The above routes you mention seem a lot safer ;)

I doubt if the glue is the 'permanent' type and can probably be removed with a solvent such as alcohol or lighter fluid or acetone (nail polish remover). Work up a corner put a small amount of solvent under the edge. Keep working and putting solvent on till you've removed the cover then clean the screen with more solvent.

DISCLAIMER: I've never tried this on a camera LCD screen but have used it on other similar items. Try at your own risk.

I am going to wait till I get a reply from ZAGG before I try taking the film off.... I am not going to try anything like that at my own risk!!!!!

Same here I have been really impressed with them here in the S.L.C. They are Utah based company and everytime I have a screw up on my phone and the phone has had to be replaced, they take off the old one and replace it with a new one. They have a lifetime warranty if you have it installed at their shop or cart at the mall. They charge 5 bucks as a install fee, but has totally worth it since my devices keep getting messed up. First time I got a update and it bricked the phone, so T-mobile sent me a new one and they wrapped the new one. Second time I broke off the headphone jack in the phone and they replaced it. I have their stuff on my phone, 60D and Ipad and haven't had any problems yet. The covers peel right off and don't leave any residue that I've noticed. In fact I actually got my new phone on a friday and still wanted it proteced over the weekend, so I peeled the cover off and put it on the new phone and by the end of the weekend the cover had gelled or whatever they call it by Monday minus the area I had got my dirty fingers under the sticky stuff to pull it off. Hope that make you feel a little better until tomorrow. All I have to say is if you have a mall by you have them install it and you get the lifetime with it.

There are 3-4 malls in my area, but I have never seen any with ZAGG/Invisible Shield displays in the mall. I probably do not live in a larger enough metropolis. Thanks for trying!

Making the most of my weekend, went for a ride yesterday to look for some moose and this one was nice enough to sit still long enough to let me snap a few good pics. People are stupid though, I pulled up and stayed behind the nose of my truck and put a buffer between me and the animal and as soon as I spotted her and pulled over a bunch of cell phone photogs pulled over, got out of their cars and were pretty much walking right up to her and snapping photos. I know what a 1,000 pound animal can do to you, so I kept my distance and was waiting...and little excited to get the action shots of a moose tearing into someone. I was seriously waititng for this one guy to walk down, put his arm around her and pose for a shot. IDIOTS! Oh, and it snowed yesterday too.

Love the first shot. As for the rest, well, nearly anything can be explained by the fact that "people are stupid." :) Nice of the moose to hang out and let you get some nice photos, though.

I gave ML a try for maybe 5 times and ended up removing it all the time. It also eats up my batteries like an alligator. :)

What I do to remove it is format my SD using my Canon G12.

Kodus for Alex(ML Creator) for trying hard to make our DSLR firmware better but still not reliable IMO. Maybe one day he'll perfect it.
