all shot in manual mode, which I'm finding easy with this lens. I did find something interesting about the stabilisation, in mode 2 the a/c was jumping about in the view finder but when I put it back to mode 1 it settled down straight away.

Gave the supermoon a try last night. I wanted to get something in the foreground close to moonrise, but I missed it. Side note, autofocus is almost impossible at 500mm with a 1.4 TC. And it's definitely not easy focusing at 700mm with live view even with OS.

My first birdie attempts with the new lens and only a few weeks of experience. Shot hand held with a 600D.

Also my first attempt at PP with DPP, comments welcomed....

I bought this lens over 1 year ago but was really never that happy with the results.
Last Saturday I bought a new Canon 60D and now the photos are amazing!

The bigma is not as sharp as I expected. I may need more time with the lens. Here are some pics from it.

I thought the same thing when used with my XSi. When I bought my 60D I got MUCH better results.

See #2903 just above your post.

I envy you Inspeqtor. I got the pics using 7D... and I did the microadjustment... On my xs it's never ever sharp :( But I got them handhold and using shutter speed 1/1000 maybe that's why. I need to try more

I don't always get tack sharp photos with my 60D and that lens. I have to work at it and learn myself what works and what does not.

That bird shot was hand held 1/250 at f8 ISO 200
