some more egrets

Some more from my session last month. I went back looking for both the egret and pelican, but none in sight. The water level was up quite a bit, might have had something to do with it, who knows! Haven't been back since with this stupid ear infection, and being away.

Wonderful shots Tina. I love that first one. The pose is just so vital.
They are all really herons, yes? Here the Herons will go to more shallow water to feed when levels are up. We see it regularly with the changing depths of the lakes and ponds.

Many thanks Lil. They all belong to the same family, but these are known as egrets. I believe this one to be a great egret. I used to call them herons for ages. Thanks for the info on the water levels. I am not at that particular place often enough to see the changes in levels. More rain coming, so it will stay full for a while longer.
