Couple from tonight at the Lantern Floating Ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park. With some 40,000 in attendance this year, this was as close as we could get.

Wow, I live here and how did I missed the event? Wish I could be there. Thanks for uploading these wonderful photos.

Mahalo! My first time to the lantern ceremony and I must say it was a very moving experience.

Great shots in this thread. Nice one from Ko'olina, Rayman!

Thanks Rick. That shot at Ko'olina was my second option as I totally forgot about the lantern festival at the park.

Thanks Garys! Yeah the traffic was pretty crazy - good thing is they had free parking at the Convention Center with shuttle service, which is the way to go if you're ever interested. For picture taking just be prepared to get there early or better yet get wet and wade through the water. Some of the best shots I saw on Flickr were from the water. I wasn't able to get down there so best I could do was raise my camera as high above my head as I could, take lots of pictures, and hope some came out.

There are good photographs and then photographs of very special events that are not easy for all to see that become good no mater what.
You have a true combo image here.
Excellent and thanks for sharing.

Right on! I was on my way back to Connecticut on Memorial Day.

Here's my Ko'olina sunset shot and since we're talking Memorial Day a shot I took at Pearl Harbor at the Arizona memorial.
