Which kit did you order? I got an email from Camerapro saying that they just received their first silver bodies on Friday (24th May). A few other people I know have been trying to chase down an E-M5 in Australia so I'd asked them to contact me when they had stock. Their prices are good, too!

Just the Black Body only, I have no interest in the zoom lenses. I already own the Panasonic 20 1.7

Yeah, Micro 4/3 has some great primes. See how you go with the 20mm; there have been a few issues reported with the E-M5/20mm combination.

The first is the possibility of high ISO banding caused by some electronic interference between the lens and the sensor. Whatever the problem is, it has only been reported with the 20mm lens so far.

The second is occasional camera lock-up where the battery has to be removed and re-inserted to wake the camera up again. I had it happen for the first time today, but hadn't had any problems previously.

So far my favourite lens on the E-M5 is the PL25/1.4, although to be honest that is my favourite lens on any Micro 4/3 camera :).

No worries. I hope it arrives quickly!

I'm not too concerned about the locking-up since I don't think I'll be using the 20mm very much on the E-M5. There just feels to be a big mismatch in speed between the camera and the body. Ideally, if there was a faster (aperture and focusing) lens released in the 16-18mm range I'd jump straight on it and probably sell the 20mm.

I just went by my local camera store for my weekly walk through to see whats new. They have two OMD's returned with random mirror lockups and one return for issues with it turning on. They said they had to pull the battery and put it back in to get it to turn on. So far so good with mine :\

Edit:

I asked him what he meant, he said lock-ups in general.

I used my em-5 for about a month on a vacation, and I have to say I'm sold. The one thing I'm a little disappointed about is the built-in EVF. It's almost unuseable with my polarized sunglasses on, something I probably should've anticipated. Thankfully, the OLED display is perfectly visible even on a bright daylight.

I like it so much I'm actually going to sell all my Canon gear over the next few weeks. For those interested, I have a 55-250 and 430 EX II for sale in the market section of this forum.

The OLED display also 'blacks out' if you've got polarized sunglasses and turn it a specific angle. Just pop 'em up when using the screen. I'm currently thinning out the collection of L glass (the 70-200L/2.8 IS is finally going - I really only use it once or twice a year, may even let the 100-400 go eventually) to fund a few mu43s purchases.

The 5DII and wide-angle stuff isn't going anywhere, neither are the primes, but I don't think the long glass will live in my house for very much longer....

nice pics, I thinking about getting a mirror-less system for the smaller size but with a zoom lens it seems almost as large as a DSLR

I have a 5DII and 550D as well. The OM-D E-M5 with kit zoom lens is smaller than the 550D with a 18-135 zoom and it weighs a lot less. Also, you don't have to go with the kit zoom. Both Olympus and Panasonic make rather low profile pancake lenses that cut down the size greatly.

In fact one of the things that surprised me when I first saw it in the store was how small it was. It looks bigger in photos.
