There are so many elements that make this picture rock, old speedometer, casual steering method, cigarette, even the crack in the windshield adds an element that make this bada$$.

^^ thanks guys.. I don't have a set workflow - i just mess around with each picture till it looks right. For that one was mainly hue and saturations sliders. Also some curves adjustements. Here is a recent one:

I think the key is he just takes great pictures that have a lot of emotion/mood , even without PP the picture would stand up on it's own imo.

A valid point!

Couple quick questions:

What aspect ratio do you think the common person would most readily associate with cinema/widescreen movies?

How is everyone adding the black bars? I know this can be done in Photoshop, but I was wondering if there was another way, perhaps in Lightroom?

Has anyone found any good Lightroom presets to use? It might help to have a decent starting point to begin learning how to create these effects.

I've been looking at this thread off and on since it started. There's some great images in here.

Here's my first attempts using already processed pictures in CS5. I haven't tried starting with a RAW yet. None of these shots were taken with this format in mind, so composition is sacrificed some. In terms of adjusting colors, the first and last are using the gradient maps. The second is using the sliders in color correction and curve adjustments. The third is adjusting the colors seperately in curves. C&C appreciated, especially on color tones and overall brightness / vignetting.

N.O.R.E., what makes your images stand out is not just the cinematic processing but the subject matter -- you have an "eye" for capturing subjects/compositions that work well with the processing/style! Kudos!
