Does anyone know how the discounts work for lenses only, no body? Can I do the trade in with a Powershot and get a lens with the discount?

No, you can't just purchase a lens without a body to get the discount. I don't get what's unclear about that in the first post in this thread..

Body must be purchased(CLP) in order to get the lenses at CLP pricing.

Are Lens or Flash products available with this program? In addition to the kit options for the T series, the 50D, and 60D, you may purchase one additional refurbished lens, and one refurbished Speedlight from the following list:

EF 17-40 f4 L
EF 24-70 f2.8 L
EF 24-105 f4 L IS
EF 28-135 f3.5 IS
EF 50mm f1.4
EF 50mm f1.8
EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM II
EF 70-300 f4-5.6 (Non-L)
EF 75-300 f4-5.6
EF 85mm f1.8
EFS 10-22 f3.5-4.5
EFS 18-135 f3.5-5.6 IS
EFS 18-200 f3.5-5.6 IS
EFS 55-250 f4-5.6 IS
EF 2x Extender II
Speedlight 430 EXII

Pricing is 80% of the current refurbished price on the Canon Direct website (multiply current price by .80)
There is no option for purchasing a stand alone lens under this Program. Naturally, lens options are based on availability.
Lens must be ordered at the same time as the camera. If you purchase a lens or flash in conjunction with your camera, your shipment will be upgraded to 2nd Day at no additional charge.

I think I need to send my Mark 2 back!!! Was shooting a wedding this weekend and the camera FROZE!!! I couldn't adjust the aperture or the shutterspeed! Turned it off, popped out the batteries, and still frozen!!! I kept shooting, praying and after about five minutes, back to normal. The LCD does funny things on mine as well. Boo!!!! Love my Mark 2 though...

I can't get eosinfo to show my 7d as being connected. And this is on 2 different pcs with xp. My laptop has windows 7 64-bit and it doesn't want to work on that either. I'll have to try another one.

Any chance this is even remotely accurate?

I think the problem might be that eosinfo will not work on the 7D. Try http://www.eoscount.com (external link)

From page one (just in case you want to try the linux gphoto2 option for your 7D):

How can I check the shutter count after I receive my refurbished camera? Shutter count for the 40D, 50D, and 5DMII can be determined with EOSinfo. Download the program here: http://astrojargon.net/EOSInfo.aspx (external link).

If you want the shutter count for a DIGIC III camera (T1i, T2i, T3i, 7D, 60D, or 1DMIV), the shutter count can be obtained by EOSCount located at www.eoscount.com (external link). You will need a 32 bit browser (IE is preferred, but other browsers have workarounds to allow the Active X operation).

There is also an application developed for Linux called gphoto2 that can be used for the 7D (and I assume the other bodies as well). Full instructions for booting Linux on your Windows PC or Laptop can be found on this post: https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=11813682&postcount=19

Download site for gphoto2 is located here: http://www.gphoto.org/ (external link) Gphoto2 can also be used via openSUSE, Redhat, etc.

MOkoFOko has also posted a step by step tutorial on how to use the Linux emulator on a Windows platform.
For step by step instructions see MOkoFOko's thread here: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1058019

Bodies with low shutter count might have been used mainly for videos. :)

So the prices listed above. Are they what Canon gives as credit per system turn in? Or are those what the various systems cost to the customer? If so, do those prices already reflect the 20% discount or no? I have a T1-I and might be interested in stepping up to the T3-I or possibly a 60D.

They're the prices. Most people send in broken canon cameras they purchase off ebay for about $10.

O.k., so those are what it will cost to purchase. Do they include the 20% already, or no?
