Shot at the Pawtucket Red Sox game tonight, my first dusk/night shoot, and to say I struggled with light was an understatement. I'm glad I had a 1D4, but still had fits...

Wow... that's saying something... lol... Thanks!

Hey, I hate the team (Yankees), not the fans, unlike other fans I know.

Thanks!

The third pic was one of my last for the night. I was using a 70-200 f/2.8 with a 1.4 TC, and I was being forced to shoot at ISO 10,000 just to get close to 1/640 or 1/800. So just took the TC off to get me to 2.8, ISO 6,400, and hope to hell I get a clear shot to crop. So in the last one, he was dead center in the pic, but postage-stamp size. I was SO surprised that I could get something close to useful from it.

I'll be getting a 300f/2.8 soon, so at least I won't have to crop much then.

You'll definitely have to crop haha. I crop with my 400 and I have closer access than a AAA field.

I know I'll have to crop, but rather crop at 300mm than 200mm... :)

Yea, I agree. I was shooting between 3200-6400 ISO, and even 10,000 when I had my TC on. I hope to get a 300 2.8 by the end of the week.

Yea, I'm not too much of a fan of Dice-K either, he just happened to be making the start that day. I think it was a waste of the $51 Million to get him.

Tough crowd.

Personally, while I see some noise in that shot I don't find it at all objectionable. It wasn't all that long ago in the good old film days when it was perfectly normal to have even more graininess than that.
