Crap, I should have checked the boards again before buying one from Adorama. Now to cancel my order so I can buy it from Abes. Appreciate the help from both of you, though. =)

Good deal except for the "validation" phone call agida

I got one from Abe's Maine,front focus issue out of the box, i really want to get one, but the chance of getting focus issue is pretty high..

Did anyone order through Abe's of Maine and have their order shipped yet? Mine is still 'sent to warehouse' four days later, which seems unreasonably slow compared to any other online retailer.

I ordered mine on Sunday, 6/3 from Abes after cancelling my previous order. Still at "sent to warehouse" but it's only been a few days for me so don't expect much. I'll keep you posted once mine changes status.

Ok, mine still says sent to warehouse but I just got a notice from UPS that it will be arriving tomorrow, so it looks like their website is just not updating properly.

Ordered from Amazon. Shipped right away with free shipping. Their return/exchange policy should come in handy if there are any focus issues.

I placed the order on Friday evening, and they just sent an email stating:

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, due to the heavy volume of sales, we oversold this Sigma lens. We are waiting for Sigma to replenish our supply. We will have them in stock within the next two weeks. We will rush out your order as soon as they become available. We apologize for the slight delay. We appreciate your patience and patronage.

That's messed up, I ordered mine on Saturday and had it delivered this morning.

From Abe's? Me too...I will never purchase from them again. I sent CS 2 emails to update the status of the order over the last week with no response whatsoever. Then I get an email today telling me they oversold the lens. Quick to take money out of my bank account but weren't even aware of how much inventory they had. And no replies from Customer Service after a week? I don't even know how they stay in business with service like that.

Just to save 35 dollars over Amazon. stupid. I'd have the lens in my hand now even with free super saver shipping probably. Does anyone know if Sigma will honor warranty for calibration if needed if I bought it from Abe's?

F*ck Abe's. Wasting my time and effort. Horrible customer service. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!

Well, never got the email that said they were backordered from Abes but in calling today they informed me it was & that they had sent me an email on 6/7. I've been receiving emails from them about my order & sales over the course of the week and I also checked my spam folder - no email about the delay. They forwarded me the email they sent so I now have a copy of it.

In calling about the situation they apologized for the inconvenience and offered to fully cancel my order if I wished. In asking for compensation, they offered to have it overnighted to me when it arrived back in stock. That's not really a consolation to get something overnighted when you're waiting around 2 weeks. In not accepting the offer and pressing the issue, the final compensation for the delay and miscommunication was a $20 gift card. They would not offer any price adjustment as compensation.

Your results may vary but just sharing my experience for those that ordered with Abes and didn't receive the lens because it was "oversold".
