Hi Shane

I think POTN needs more emoticons available. Maybe I need to get off my ass and go search for some:rolleyes::lol:

Definitely more zip in the background flowers when the lights fired.

Also, I want to point out that it make the foreground flowers in the front right highlighted too. Thats why I used a shoot through and not a reflective. I felt smart at the time.

Enough about my image. Can someone else post something so everyone can haze them instead of me? ;) (enough emoticons windpig?)

Cheers! that's cheered me up.

This my first attempt at studio lighting a portrait. So it was a bit of a leap of faith for me. I'm pretty clueless as to what's right or wrong though.

Ill fix those masking issues...tomorrow ;)

LOL. I was asking why do you need to go all that trouble in lighting up your background. If there was enough light, you can always meter the background, use available light as highlight and a fill...... then hit your subject with a strobe in front if needed.

The environment it looks as though he was shooting in had quite the dynamic range of light. I would have found myself doing the same thing to take the background from dark and dingy, to poppy and colourful. I think it's a great capture, take improvement suggestions with a grain of salt around here....don't forget that.
