It looks like it's cropped, maybe that's why.

Yeah. I was wondering that. But it would have to be a really close crop to look like that. No matter. We'll just see. I just like to help where i can since I can't always be out shooting like I would like to be.

A small sample of what this awesome lens can do. A super-sharp flower close up. The picure has just the usual DxO lens correction applied. No other post-processing applied. Amazed everytime I use it. I'm in love with my Sigma 17-70 :) PS: thank you kfreels for recommending it!

Well I just placed my order for this lens with Adorama. It's currently $419 after a $50 instant rebate.

It will be getting quite a workout this weekend.

I LOVE this lens, it's on my camera 95% of the time due to it's fast and close-up focusing! I've been able to get some very unique shots:

The thing to remember is that these were shot literally within a half inch of the closest object and the lens was still able to focus fast and capture detail.

Stepped outside the other day and saw this cloud formation and had to take the shot.
This is SOOC.

Not at all. I'm not on here as often as I used to be. Thanks for the input. It's one of my reasons for posting. I found the RAW and it is fine. I screwed something up in PP then didn't check it before posting it. I really appreaciate your input. I don't think I'm satisfied with this shot now. Certainly not the lens. Must be the user on this one.

Great work everyone! I am going to pick one of these up this summer, with the rebate going. I need a zoom. :)

You'll really like it as a walk around lens.

I just got mine on Wednesday, and I was not expecting the quality that I got. This thing is solid no wobbles and the zoom ring is really well damped. The new finish looks and feels great. I messed the the MFD and man you can touch the subject to the front element at 70mm and still focus!
