My thermometer says 2 degrees here in Wellington! I think that's with wind chill though.

I didn't think thermometers could detect wind chill?

I don't know really. I just know if the met service says it's 7 degrees but fees like 2 degrees my outdoor thermometer usually says 2 degrees. Not sure why. Maybe it's just colder here than in town, the urban heat island effect.

Does anyone here (Dave suggested Moppie) know if we can buy Photoshop upgrades from the US using PayPal or a credit card? It's NZ$250 if you buy from the US, $385 if you buy in NZ.

You can't if your using an NZ credit card.

You can buy the box version from Amazon and have it shipped to a US address though.

Have you tried through paypal? Otherwise I may just ask someone in the US to buy it for me and pay them.

I tried everything.

Your paypal account has to be validated, which means connected to a credit card or bank account which means have a country connected to it.

Adobe have covered all their bases at their end, you MUST have a US Credit card with a US billing address for it to work.

Amazon how ever don't care about the credit card, but will limit the shipping address.

I've given up on buying each program license and joined the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription service.
Everything in the CS6 Master suite for about $700 a year.

Since I don't have a US credit card I don't think I can use a reshipper.

I figure I'll just get someone in the USA to order it online for me, then have them send me the license code. On the odd occasion I ask for a favour from someone in the US here on POTN I usually get plenty of offers of help.

CS6 ACR really is a nice jump from CS4. I have some photos from a friends wedding that I don't even want to get started with in CS4.

Yeah they could sell tickets for that train ride!

But then LTSA/Labour Dept would then have kittens, and demand Kiwirail come up with a 2000 step plan for dealing with snow on the tracks... spoiling it for everyone...

Have you read some of the youtube comments ? Pretty sure the Brits liked the way KiwiRail dealt with it compared to British rail a couple of years ago.
