Apple has posted and put up for sale their newest laptops.

I was just reading yesterday that later this summer, possibly early in the fall the new laptops from the major manufacturers will be announced. Those laptops will have the New Intel chips and touch screen features, with the New Microsoft8.

I was thinking of purchasing an Apple, but I am going to wait until the fall to make my decision.

just a few of my thoughts...

I am almost compelled to upgrade to a new Macbook Pro 15" w/ Retina. Quite the premium though, especially when you consider that my current 2009 Macbook Pro is processing my 5D3 files just fine. The Retina display would be nice, but I am thinking it may not be enough for me to cough up $2k+.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a retina MBP, Photoshop has already been optimized so I would imagine Lightroom can't be far behind. Apple really knows how to get in my pockets...

I've been waiting for this since before christmas. My MacBook Air isn't really up for the task of photo editing, but I loved it's portability. I'm willing to go with a bigger laptop for more performance, and the screen will be killer. Mine should arrive in a few weeks, and I'm looking forward to the performance and screen size boost. I'm always on the go, and it weighs only albs, so it should be easy enough to lug around with me.

It is definitely expensive, but is also the perfect computer for what I needed, powerful portable and a good screen. I probably would wait a while if I had a better current computer (11.6 MBA, 1.6Ghz core 2 duo, 4G ram), or maybe buy a used 15" one. Right now is a great time to buy a used 15" MB pro off of Craigslist or kijiji.

those 2880x1800 'pixels' arnt real adressable pixels though right? retina is a marketing term,

love how they have managed to reduce glare by 75%, what like going to mat screens like everyone else?

I noticed that this new pro doesn't have an optical drive, does it mean that there's a "space" for an additional hardrive?
