I ordered my 60d from the Canon Loyalty Program and recieved it on Friday, charged the battery and left for a baseball game having only snapped a few pics in my office.
I set the camera on sports mode as the game was just starting when I arrived and I wanted to get a few shots and see what the camera was capable of in auto modes.
This is a shot from the first burst of about 5 shots as the lead-off batter grounded out.
I was and still am thrilled with this camera!!! I shot all weekend at baseball tournaments and it is so much fun to use that I'm looking for reasons to have it in my hands more often than my wife thinks I should!!:D

Both, The first owner bought it, and built it ( he makes the bumpers and all the protection for it, armor tech.) then I bought it from him.

I have sense then done smaller things to it, but he did the major stuff, protection, twin stick transfer case, ARB locker.... Stuff like that.

I think these are called Turkey Vultures? Looks like a big beautiful bird until you see their head.

Hi Guys,

I have a question about flashes. I know that the 60D has a wireless trigger, do any of you guys use it? I'm debating getting a 430 EX II and a ST-E2 so I can use a flash off camera. However, if I don't need the ST-E2 that would be great and it would allow me to use my on-camera flash as a fill if needed. Do any of you guys do this?

Also totally unrelated but awesome, I just got some Kenko EF-S compatible extension tubes and LOVE THEM. I was able to make this unusual combination using a 1.4x Kenko Pro 300 DG tele-converter then some tubes and then my EF-S 60mm Macro lens! Who needs a 100mm when you have that set-up??? (I realize it isn't the same but it is pretty cool!)

Also, the tubes are pretty cool on my 70-200!

Welcome Arob - the 430EX II very conveniently will fire when 'off' your 60D - no need for extra gizmos... ;)

I have 2 430EXIIs and do not need the ST-E2 to fire them both off camera. You may choose whether you wish the popup flash to contribute fill light to the picture or not.

The system is pretty good, works indoors even if there is no direct optical contact between the flash and the camera.

It works outdoors too, although I would expect that at some level of light intensity, the popup flash may stop talking to the slave flashes.

The Wireless Controller can let you do E-TTL.

In addition, the mode I am using it, is to set the flash on E-TTL, so it accepts more sophisticated control from the camera, and then set the Wireless Controller on manual, so that I can control

How much flash

What ratio between the two groups of flash

...without running around trying to set the flashes manually. All remotely controlled from the camera!

To do that with radio controlled flashes, you have to spend a fortune!
