Got my 60D. The build quality is a lot worse than the 50D. Also, my copy shows some signs of use, and the grippy plastic peels off!

Can I return it within 14 days even if I have used it quite a bit for the weekend (like 1000 counts)? Want to get the 7D instead...

My grip is peeling too. Mine had a pretty high shutter count compared to all the others I have seen people get so thats probably why. I am trying to decide if I should return it for another and try my luck on a "newer" one, or just go w/ it......

I just got off the phone with them. the 5D2 is still in the program, but she said they sell out fast. She also told me they had some last night but they sold out in four hours. You have to keep at it.

I asked her what they were exactly, and she told me (although I don't know how accurate this is): "The 5d2s that we are getting in are sent directly from retailers as either overstock, damaged box, or wouldn't turn on."

I guess that means they aren't getting in the hands of customers....low shutter count then.

$1407. DANG. That's cheap.

Thank you. bw!

It appears they took off the main refurbished link. If you happen to have the refurbished camera page bookmarked it should still work. Here is the 60D refurbished: http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_276387_-1 (external link)

Thanks for the links people! I was scratching my head for an hour or so wondering why Canon removed the link. At first I thought they were updating the refurb store. Yes, definately weird! Now I can continue drooling when ever a 5d MK II or 1d IV are in stock!

I've been calling every morning for the past 1&1/2 weeks just in time to hear them say, "oh sorry, we JUST sold out"! :( they say they'll call and I'm on the list but I wonder how long that list is and how far down I am... If anyone else on here gets a 5DMkii before me..... I'll cut you..... JK..... Maybe...

Is there a website I'm missing that shows realtime availability and what not? Or is it just lucky timing?

All of the current information on what is available through the program is in the first page in this thread.

You can check the Canon refurb online store to see what they have in stock (or call them), but that first post lists what's eligible.

I was able to get a 5D II a few weeks ago after I received a call back from a rep. Before that though, I was calling at least 2 times a day and checking the online store frequently to see if the red "Out of stock" was gone.
Definitely ask to leave you number for call back though.
