Radial engines don't actually leak oil, by the way. They just mark their territory!

I've been playing with Photomatix, this was 3 shots hand held. photomatix did the rest, I only cloned out their water mark.

Condolences to the families of the Charlotte NC ANG crewmembers who lost their lives in the Sunday crash while fighting the wildfires out west. Tail number 93-1458 went down in the late afternoon while engaged in MAFFS Aerial Firefighting operations. Fellow C-130 crewmembers all . . . and their loss is a loss to the entire community . . .

My mother and father were both crewmembers in the CA ANG long before the 130 was in the fleet.

All remaining C-130 fire fighting a/c with the USAF were grounded today. This true?

RIP to those that lost their lives doing more than their job in this Herc, & a speedy, full recovery to those crew members injured. I know that I would find it very hard emotionally if I was involved in an accident where we lost crew members. I still to this day think of the guys we lost in our B707 crash many years ago, on that day I was on SAR standby, not a good day.

Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;

To roll and glide, to wheel and spin,
To feel the joy that swells within;

To leave the earth with its troubles and fly,
And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;

Then back to earth at the end of a day,
Released from the tensions which melted away.

Should my end come while I am in flight,
Whether brightest day or darkest night;

Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain,
Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again;

For each of us is created to die,
And within me I know,
I was born to fly

RIP

Phil

Now that the Australian government is signing away C130's to Indonesia it's time to get as many shots as I can!
