Nothing says "urban" quite like "24 hour bail bonding" in my book! ;)

Thanks to that 20% vs the CLP... 60D + 100mm macro + 430EX II on the way in 7-10 days...

Been researching for the last 4 hours what to do for a walk around + zoom.. ugh!

I understand I need to spend more $$ since it's such a sexy body, but I don't have extra $$ right now & shot fine with the kit 18-55 and a 55-250 before. Just trying to figure out if I should go with that setup or go with a 28-135 with a 55-250

or some other combo that I can't wrap my head around..... this is my first time having a macro lens, so I can't wait, but I also of course love casual photography for pets & crap.. & then a zoom lens for everything.

Sounds like a 50mm + zoom would be best in that aspect.., but should I bother with the 50 if I already have the 100mm?!

Or maybe something even shorter that is still less than $200? If it's shorter I would still need a separate zoom lens..

Or should I just go 28-135 + zoom?!

I'm losing my mind.

it could be that the 28-135 is getting older in the IS and focus speed area vs the more modern. I've not read, nor looked, for a new 18-135 'STM' review - it may have better optics vs the first version.

Keep the 55-250 ~ for the money its hard to beat.

There's the 17-85 IS as well but again, it too is getting older and dpreview.com states the 18-55 is sharper in that range...

I shall join in if I may - I recently downgraded from a 5D Mark II - but after using a 60D for a couple of weeks I've not regretted it one bit!

Well no more photos from me for a bit. its horrid trying to use my 14" laptop for processing, and my gfx card on my desktop decided today was a good day to die. I have 4 prints I need to get ready for sale to someone, and others that I needed to work on as well... >.<

Anyone have a spare 8800GT or better gfx card? PCI-E is the type I need. Looking to spend under 100 bucks, closer to 50 preferably, and I want used so I can get something good. Dont want a new card for 50 bucks because it would probably be crap lol. Also, need 2 DVI slots on the back or DVI and VGA.

I really like that pic. Stupid newb question, but what settings did you do on that shot? When I go star gazing and there are city lights around I get washed out. I go up in the mountains by us and am fairly far away from the city, but I'm guessing I just need to venture out farther.

We need to check the moon schedual and go up to the Uintahs when there is no moon if you want to get stuff like this. That or go back to goblin when there is no moon. Saw this the other day on Scott's (Friday night photogs) page and started thinking we need to get up there.

Ok... pretty sure I'm going EF 28-105 3.5/4.5 II USM + EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM..... I wanna stick with EF not only for FF in the future but also for film.

Was looking at the 24-85 but... it's a tough call over the 28-105. Not as much lens swapping if I go 28-105...

Also I read that the 24-85 is better for the 7D because it needs MAF because of the Aspherical Element, so since we don't have MAF..... that answers it!

Welcome to the thread.

Just wonder why you downgraded.

Nice shot there.

possibly a little late, but here's my contribution to the Urban theme. 1 new, taken last weekend, and one old(er) taken a couple months ago. You have to look real close to tell, but there are roughly 30,000 people in this first shot. This was taken on the final night of Riverbend Festival, a local music festival that happens here every year. the blue arch othe right is a stage floating on a barge in the Tennesse River, and the entire riverfront (and river) is packed with people.
