Finally pulled the switch and moved up from my 20D. My 7D body arrived yesterday, and I have some learning to do. My 20D has served me well (purchased when it first came out), and I am keeping it as a second body. Will start by watching some of the videos referenced on the forum, and hope to post some next week.

Congrats, you'll love the camera.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Congrats! I am extremely happy with my 7D. Youtube.com has some great help videos for the AF system to help work through things.

Best of luck to you.

Congratulations on the new 7D - it's a great body, but it does take time to learn and it can be pretty unforgiving but once you get to know it it's fabulous.

Please do keep us up to date on your experiences with it...

Thanks to all for your good wishes. Looked at the vids from B&H today (good stuff) and going to NYC for a shoot on the Hi Line. Hopefully will get some post-worthy shots.

Learn the back button focusing technique and the 7d will amaze you on the amount of keepers you get with the 1ds little brother.;)

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.
