canon 50mm 1.8 question

looking to buy this as i only have 75-300 right now has anyone got this or had this lens could give there opinion on it im told the 50mm is sharp ?

and advice welcome thank you

Great for Macro and Low light too. Holds its own against L glass

It wasn't so sharp wide open on my 500D, but sharp enough at 1.8 on 5D.

isn't it strange how the nifty fifty is sharp on some models but
dull on others?

great little lens, could be the best value in the Canon lens lineup. build quality isn't fantastic, but it doesn't cost much either.

You wont be dissapointed, just take good care of it, as previously mentioned, construction quality isn´t the greatest.

This lens has yet to let me down for the IQ it provides for that price.

As said, it's by far not the best lens in the Canon line up but if you're on a budget & fancy a fast prime it's worth a go to get you started & see what primes are all about.

Minimal sharpening in photoshop was done with this. It was super sharp at f/7.1
