I got my eyes checked last week due to not being able to tell focus on my rebel 35MM(no diopter adjustment). Yup, turns out I need glasses! Small astigmatism when viewing up close objects!

I had to laugh because I turned 30 yesterday and need glasses! I fear the worst for 40!

Well I'm only a year older then you and this has been going on a while so it seems possible. Man getting old stinks and I'm not even old yet. lol

QUOTED IMAGE

Haha such a great picture & it reminds me of some my son did at a similar age!
We went to the beach in Chicago & my son was tossing sand into his mouth and in that one handful of sand was a cigarette butt he started chomping on it we catch it as it happened but still a great reminder with this pic of how funny & that day was :)!
Thanks for sharing!

Yup they are all recovered except two. Bad part is that now they are all mixed up, like if I had put them in a box, shuffle it for an hour and spill them out on the floor... I'll have to organize them :|

But yeah, still way better than no pictures at all!

^^ Jay, it's not of my business, but I suggest you buy your own domain name and forward it to your really long ''http://zeroedinphotography.wordpress.com''. Something like zephotography.com or similar. Easier to tell people and to remember. Domain names costs less than 10$, you should do it.

just popping in here after 24+ hrs - very glad it worked out for you. Now you can recommend some emergency software ;)

I used "Recuva" with great success retrieving deleted CR2's on my Sandisk, but they were not corrupted

- again glad there is a happy ending

Wow I wouldn't even imagine what would have happened if I would have lost the 700+ pictures of the prom. I wasn't the GWC, I was the official photographer. I think a lot of people would have hated me, they were over 350!

I heard great things about Recuva, but I'm on a mac. At worse I would have opened the PC tower at home but I try to start for from it

I was contemplating that, but I went with the full thing. I cant remember shortened ones like that so I end up googling them.

Yeah, people remember mine easily, they often think it's Photodr for ''Photo Doctor''...

At first I was sad about that, DR stands for David Rivest, my full name. But now I think I like it, it makes people remember it easily.

Astigmatism is no joke. It sucks hardcore. Mine didn't start kicking in until I was around 40. I first noticed it when trying to read small print on things like instruction sheets, etc. I thought the contacts I had gotten were the wrong prescription (have been nearsighted, since age of 6).

Turns out, once the astigmatism gets to a certain point regular contacts and glasses can no longer correct it. At first, it was just with contacts in. Could still see small stuff fine, with glasses. Now, it's glasses too. Dr said I will need bifocals, in a year or two. He lied. I need them, now. Trying to read anything fineprint is impossible, unless I remove my glasses or use "cheaters" with my contacts in.

And I'm not even old, yet (43) :p

Yeah, my hobbies are pretty hard on the eyes, photography and shooting, so I am assuming they will deteriorate at a more rapid pace. I dont like the idea of wearing glasses, so when I am a bit better off financially, I will see if Lasiks is a viable option.
