I've got 3 days in SF at the end of next week.
I shoot travel (not people)/landscape.
Any suggestion for places that I might not normally come across in the area?

Thanks Much, Chuck

San Francisco is a great place to shoot, lots of different district with there own style and architecture .
I love Japan town, china town.
If you pass over the golden gate is a lot of great point of view.Just after the bridge or up hill.

Although you cannot take photo's - http://beachblanketbabylon.com/ (external link) Is something that you are unlikely to ever see the likes of anywhere; if you can get tickets and have the time you will not forget the entertainment.

A really nice walk for some interesting views is to go from the Museum of the Legion of Honor and take the trail along the water to Baker Beach, which is right near the San Francisco end of the Golden Gate.
There are also some artillery emplacements from the days when shore batteries were an important part of coastal defense. Check on a map, as there are shorter variations of that walk.

Definitely go to the Marin headlands and Sausalito. You'll likely want to go to Twin Peaks or Treasure Island — in my opinion, those views of the city are overshot, but they're definitely nice none the less. You may have more luck in the Bay area thread.

I lived in SF for 8 months, If you can go to "Muir Woods' its pretty amazing. Huge Redwoods and great hike for wild life and nature!
