Really nice shot. Has a very Zeiss 100MP-ish rendering to it. I assume it's from the 100 IS macro?

Thanks. It's actually the 135L, my favorite lens. All the shots above except for the crater lake shots are from the 135.

Your wife took it really well... So either she's super-human or the chilli wasn't a fresh one. The fresh ones (called naga bhoot jolokia) we get back home in north-eastern India where they grow, full ones eaten like that have been known to knock people out and seriously hospitalized... so not the smartest thing to do. And yes, the wild elephant story somebody was reading out to her is actually true. Wait till she goes to the bathroom. :) Give her lots of curd!!

Even being fairly confident you wouldn't have shared this if something bad had happened, I was nervous. That was pretty intense. My wife does crazy stuff like that, but I'll make sure not to push her or challenge her. I personally can't handle hot stuff at all, so I'd never challeneged anyone anyway!

Nice job on the video.

A guy I work with grows these peppers, that was fresh out of his garden.

heh....this probably wasn't as big of a challenge for her as you'd think. She literally eats fresh habanero's as a side dish with her meals, as easy for her as eating a tomato would be for me. Craziest thing I've ever seen. No way I'd do that with a habanero, let alone one of these peppers. She's now looking to get one a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper. crazy.

Just got my 5d2 today, just took the obligatory dog photo to check it out. I'm impressed with the detail when I zoom in on lightroom, I like how you could basically make a nice crop just out of the eye. Also impressed just by the overall improvements in technology over my ancient 30d. I'm happy that I can actually tell if a photo is in focus based on the LCD. I'm also digging live view more than I thought I would.

Well, it's not a photo but it was done with my 5dm2. Be nice, I've never done video with the 5dm2 before, it's not an easy thing to do without autofocus. And for those that will be concerned watching this, she was fine, she was so excited that I was able to get one of these peppers for her and wants more.

My wife eating a Ghost Pepper(will require quicktime to be installed):
