Thanks guys.

Matt that is one image, but I blended in a different horizon to get rid of some city lights behind the truck.

Hope you dont mind me asking but is this a single shot? or numerous shots stacked for the stars? (Trying to get my head around stacking/astrophotography)

HDR fun, hand-held, during my trip to Bali:

IMAGE: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7230/7336141260_a94287df07_b.jpg

Some other random Bali photos, nothing spectacular just good clean photos. I wanted to travel light and only brought my 24-70L and 35L, but mostly used the 24-70 the entire trip.

QUOTED IMAGE

What time did you shoot this picture? I'm trying to get a shot of the milkyway but cant seem to get what you got here. Maybe I'm too far north???

There's no stacking involved. Just a high ISO with wide open shutter and under 30 seconds to keep the stars from trailing.

Kansas is awesome for night skies, as there's like only 12 people living in Kansas, so very little light pollution. ;)

If you make it to west Kansas, definitely check out Monument Rocks - they're awesome and the skies there are killer.
