Whoever has one by now is probably too busy enjoying it to bother with our little wants.
I have over 1200 Raw shots (RAW & L jpegs) taken with the 1DX but, to bother with a Beta program just to create a pacifier for everyone doesn't appeal to me. Sorry.
... besides, I was asked not to post them like most everyone else who has used the 1DX.

It's still not known how many stops it is better than other dslr's but I can say the AF system is abbbbsooolutely mind blowing!

The only negative thing I found wrong with it (keep in mind its a pre-production model & things could change) is the focus points not lighting up red in dark environments.

I'm no pro but, the camera is beautiful!

I need a broom stick to bite on while waiting for my pre-order.

have you used a 5diii to compare?

I was told "one stop" by the Canon rep. .... but he didn't have the final software so I don't know how he knew. Canon may have told him to say that .

Same here. 1 stop over the MKIV. When we spoke, the 5D3 had not been announced. He said on his tests, it looks to be about a stop on a RAW file.....I really doubt its gonna be 2 stops

And for those that are dreaming that the 5D3 has a stop over the MKIV-:rolleyes::rolleyes:-wait for a few months and we will all know for sure.

I dont know about the rest of you guys, but im super pumped to get files this clean at 8000 ISO from the MKIV and the 5D3. I really dont think i could ever need more than that but the ISO capabilities on the 1Dx really throws a lot into the buying decision making process. F/2.8 glass is not as important with the extra iso capabilities that the 1Dx provides...right there is a good reason to buy. Shallow depth work can be done with a prime. A 70-200 F/4 (is) is a hell of a lot cheaper than the F/2.8 version,,,,,,,same with the 300mm and 400mm primes.

Im with Nickson-----if it is in fact 2 stops,,,,you have to entertain the thought. lots of ways to sell glass and revise your kit to make it work. Even if it is 2 stops, im pretty stoked with what i have and at this point, i feel that 2 5D3's or in my case a MKIV and a 5D3 are a better way to go. 2 bodies v/s one at the same price point is a smart move especially with the 1.3 crop factor of the MKIV.

Wait and see for me. MKIV and 5D3's are excellent cameras.

No I have not. I have seen others work with it (5DMK3) though. Why?

Short of stepping into the tired arguments of 1DX vs 5DMK3 vs MK4, I'd buy what best suits my needs. I'd also quit trying to prove why and just start showing others WHY!

For my needs, I want the 1DX. Instead of a MK4, I have a 7D. If I was skilled at editing videos, I would most likely get the 5DMK3 .... or shove it in everyones face and get the c300.

Funny how it used to be Canon vs. Nikon. Now its the Canon people eating their own young.

the 1DX and the 5D3 are essentially identical sensors.

Really? Source?

I've been told 'maybe' by the end of the week here in the UK.

TBH it's a little frustrating, I'm Platinum CPS and put my order in as soon as I could. Even the Canon rep had to be given my order number to secure one of the first...yet...people seem to be getting them already.

So you've decided to get one again, Julian? I thought you took your name off of the pre-order list.

Hehe! I'm back on a preorder list but, I want to see more samples. :) If the improvement is what people are claiming, it will be added to my gear list. Although waiting will be a while.

As this was posted in another thread but has to do with 1D X quality, I'll cross-link it here:

Looking at those samples I see about a 1/2 stop of improvement over the 5D3, which is about what I expect.

Id rather see some exmplaes from those ISOs that would show the shadow noise. Not that I have any plan to buy a 1Dx but still. :)
