Well, mine aren't nearly as nice as many/most of those already posted but since I'm fairly new to the forum and since my 60D has been in my hands for exactly one day, I'd better climb aboard and post some pictures. These were taken this morning.

Thanks Mike, there are actually a couple of things I'd like to do with it in Photoshop Elements but I'm having some trouble opening RAW files from the new body. When I get that figured out, I think I want to add some warmth everywhere and maybe try to figure out how to get more radiation or a starburst effect from the sun.

Hello everybody!
This is my first post in this group. I am a happy owner of 60D since last september. It is my first DSLR camera so I am still learning.
This picture is kind of a snapshot. I was going to the river just before the midnight when I noticed the birds on the wire. I was able to take 3 pictures before the birds flew away. I did not have time to check the settings but luckily they were quite tolerable.

you probably have to download Adobe Camera Raw.
I use photoshop elements 10.
however, I used to use Elements 7 but it is NOT compatible with the 60d raw files.
So, I used to convert the raw to jpg in DPP (canon software) then move the jpg over to
Elements 7 to work on it a little.
I got sick of that and upgraded to 10. its NICE.

you are fortunate to have a really nice piece of property. I would love to have Great Blue Heron on my property.
I would make a blind (permanent) and get some amazing shots if I were you.

Bill, any chance you could purchase Lightroom 4? I think in the long run you will be a lot happier with the results...and I'm sure you will have no problems with RAW files in LR.
I'm thinking you can pick it up for around $145 and it's more than worth it :)
BTW nice first post

Thanks. I may have to purchase a new editing software. I've been getting some help in the processing forum but I'm having a horrible time following Adobe's instructions regarding downloading the update (6.2) that I need. I'll ask my wife to help me tonight but if I don't get anywhere, the writing may be on the wall. ;)

I've been struggling all afternoon with the Adobe website, their help portal and their downloads. I'm not terribly computer savvy so I'm hopeful that my wife or a techy friend may be able to manage for me.

As for the heron, that picture wasn't taken here. I am blessed with a beautiful property that's got all kinds of wildlife but I don't really have a suitable place along the river for a blind.

Well, the 40D in signature is now toast. Was on vacation last week and it took a tumble from the dining room table. Talked to a rep at UnitedCamera. Filed a claim with State Farm as it was insured. State Farm did not even ask for an estimate after I told them what the tech said. (New shutter, possibly new mirror box). They cut me a check for what it was insured for ($499). So went to Canon Direct Store and with there 20% off right now ordered a refurbished 60D. Can't wait to get it!!
