I suck at this! How can you tell there was a blend in there?

I see the long exposure to soften the water, but I don't detect any pixel editing out of camera. What was your clue?

I don't have one, but I'm sure youtube has a bunch. In a nutshell I typically do manual blending using layer mask in CS5 and just brush in/out areas of different exposures playing with opacity and blend modes. I've used color range blending a few times, but I don't like the results all the time in more challenging blends (maybe i'm not doing it perfectly), but I use it as a reference.

Check out this video on blending using color range, which can be a real quick way to blend (he actually talks about replacing a sky, but you get the idea) http://www.youtube.com​/watch?v=EcJhVpx_1jg

There's also luminousity blending, which is really great, but can take up more time. http://www.youtube.com​/watch?v=kP4r1o7RWVY (there might be better tutorials, but this is a decent one)

Anyway those are some of the basic types of blending although there are much more complex ways to do it...

Also keep in mind I'm a noob to blending and I get lazy so I try to find shortcuts, meaning I may not be the best resource for this type of info...

Here's a shot I took last month in San Diego that got the #1 explore spot on flickr yesterday! Not that it means anything or makes me a better photography in any shape or form, but it was pretty cool to see nonstop activity on my flickrr
