I got a VERY nice used copy for $340. This lens is close the the 24L, at about 25% of the cost used!

Not really close to the 24L .. but a real good lens, which we still use with pleasure ..

I would LOVE to see some images w/ this lense taken by the 5D Mark III. i like to see if the images would be even sharper and better then if using the 5D2

If one shoots RAW, there really isn't that big of a difference between the II and III, it's just one megapixel which does literally sod all, IQ-wise.


A good photographer can take extraordinary photos anywhere, with any camera and any lens while a mediocre one will take mediocre ones everywhere, with every camera and every lens.

The Devil is right, John. Actually, all my pictures back a few pages (in May) are with the 5D3. They are really sharp, but would have been the same with the 5d2, or 5Dc, for that matter. Frankly, if I could be sure to get a really good 5Dc, I'd trade my 5D3 for one (plus a buttload of money, of course).
