I had the opportunity to shoot these little birds in sets of two per day... Each time I went back to the computer to check my settings and the best settings were determined to be ... Using the 400mm 5.6L, ISO 400-500, Aperture 7.1,
shutter speed 1/1000 - 1/2000... Tripod and remote shutter release...

Great shots...love the first one ...tells quite a story and the second image has some excellent action. The parents have their work cut out for them.

Thanks for the feedback Gary... I've watched them flying all around me, for about a year now... and finally noticed this additional action over by a dead tree... Luckily, I got my tripod close enough to sit and wait on them as they got fed... The most difficult time is at the actual "feed"... I notice you do a great job with your timing to capture the feeding in your post too... I bet that required a lot of additional snaps... I averaged about 80 - 150 per session... and went back four times in two days... Now, with the holiday, the place is crawling with fly fishermen, so that's it for this year... Cheers!!!
