Hi Guys,

This is the first ever time shooting at an airport, and only third time with a DSLR, so, like others say please C&C harsh. I have no idea about shooting planes, am mainly into motorsport photography, which is the reason I got the camera. Minimal Post Processing on a couple, most just left as they were taken.

Thanks for looking.

Good start. I'm still learning too.

Crop is your friend ;) also bump your f stop up to around f9-11 and you'll be better off. for prop blur slower shutter speeds with higher f stop will help. Take a look around the forums and read the exif of how others do it and you'll quickly learn. Enjoy and perhaps the best way to learn is to KEEP SHOOTING! :) tinker with the settings etc out in the field. Don't be put off by bad photos, we all take a few.

Sydney mate, flown in and out of Welly many of times, a good wind always makes for a interesting landing! One thing about Welly AP is the control tower in with the houses, always good to show others or they would never believe you hey!

Nice, where abouts do you live? Do you photograph at the airport?

Good effort your first time out. The major difference between this & motorsport & this is that we try to promote prop blur instead of wheel blur. See the "Airshow guys - prop freeze?" & other links in post #2 of: Shooting airshows in Manual And...

Oh I see - don't know anything about planes, but searched up C130H, came up with a lockheed - looks like a very expensive toy? or is it work?

Either way, pretty awesome:)

It's my toy that the government kindly let me call work!
