Went out to get some shots of whatever came my way today. Got some images of a Long Eared owl. Critique welcome.

Fabulous shots! Did you use the Sigma lens for those?

If I ran into an owl like that the next thing I'd do is go buy a lottery ticket ;). It looks a bit too something to me, maybe too contrasty or too much sharpening, or too much clarity if you used LR, I can't tell which. But not much, I love these shots.

Nice series of one of my nemesis birds - haven't even seen one, much less get several good shots in different poses like you did. Good going.

I think I might have overdone the blacks a bit. Makes a bit to poppy maybe? If that makes sense?

Thanks! I have been waiting a while for these shots. However I had to go back tonight after dinner to see if I could find him again. I did :) Here is a shot with the Sun at my back and from about 15-20 yards away. I had to do some stealthy crawling and crouching but I manged a few shots before he flew off.
