laurts, wow - I guess I wouldn't think that 1/100 would be enough to freeze it that cleanly.

looks great!

70-200 f/4L not a bad lens for birding as well if your close to the action.
These were slightly cropped, added contrast and a bit of sharpening.

Nice series, not really tried bif with the 70-200 yet :)

I actually used a 70-200mm lens for a Baptism Ceremony on Saturday. It came in handy because the "father" didn't like us photographers crowding up the middle isle so I could only take pictures from the really far sides and upfront. It was a pain but that lens saved the day.

Thanks, it's pretty good if your close... The AF is a bit slow on the Rebel when they fly by really fast but it's doable.

+1

How do you people even get permission to take photos of airplanes? Do y'all just head to the airport and stand next to a window or runway?

In Canada it's not really a pain to do some spotting. You just need to know where to go and no problem, you have planes soaring 50 feet over your head.
I usually go down to a road that's right by to the RWY and shoot from there.

Did a pre prom shoot for my niece and her friend, managed 15 minutes in-between showers. Flash in a reflective brolly camera left + 70-200 f/4
