I'll join this club tomorrow when my 1D N should show up. I'm upgrading from a 450D so it should be
an eye opener!! Next step will be a 2X MK III to go with my 300 F4.

Welcome to the club!!

The 450D is no slouch by any means, but build of the 1D is unbelievable. It's a tank!

Hi all!

I could use a bit of advice.

I am presently thinking of buying a 1D Mk IIN that is for sale over here. It has 90.000 clicks, no wear to speak off, comes with all the original stuff and box and it comes with a 12 months warranty from the shop selling it, a very trustworthy shop I might add - they also cleaned the sensor before listing it.

Price is € 695 (about $ 865).

Good deal? Not too many clicks?

Thanks.

Anyone else has focus issues with their Sigma lenses?

ALL my sigma lenses focuses perfectly on the 1D, XTi, 5D2, 7D, 40D.

Just BOTH my 1D2/1D2N have back focus issues.
HOWEVER, they focus perfectly with a Canon lens...

Issue here:

If it's a trustworthy shop, and they're offering a warranty... I'd go for it. Personally, I don't think 90K clicks is bad. I bought one that had over 200k on it and it lasted for about another 100k before the shutter went out. Just had it replaced for a couple hundred bucks.
The price on that one doesn't sound bad either, I'd pay that for one.

After a couple of hours of playing I've got it set up pretty good but I still have lots to look at.
Looking forward to my first chance to try her out for real. My N is the first 1D I've ever had my hands
on and it was a tough choice between this and a 50D but I feel the 1D has a bigger difference
from my XSi than the 50D would.I'm keeping the XSi because of it's small size.

Most Mk IIN's are listed for around 800 euro over here, so it's a very decent price, especially since there's a year's warranty.
Right. Thanks for giving me the final nudge!

New 1dM2 owner .. acquired mine for a little under $800.00 usd. 1st 1d camera and I have not let it out of my site. After a full weekend of shooting my arm is pretty tired, I'm building new muscles to accommodate the weight. Should had bought the 1d series body sooner because it is such a serious camera and it demands you to be a better shooter.

Thanks, Patrick!! I have the store hold it for me while I follow another Mark IIn on eBay. It's from a fellow countryman, has a broken shutter and if I could buy that for 150-200 euro that'd be a good deal I think. Shutter replacement will cost approximately 300 euro. Auction ends this afternoon. Keeping fingers crossed. :)
