And my comment was not directed at you. I just feel it gives good results but your standards may be different then mine. No harm in that. That's why Canon makes all these lenses.
It's tack sharp at f/1.2 to f/1.8 but at f/2 to f/4 the focus shift does happen.....

For what it's worth I do miss at times with this lens but I miss with every lens so I feel much of it is user error.
Again not trying to sway people, but as far as 50mm lenses go the 50L is the best option IMHO.
