Thanks *blushing.jpg*
it's grape juice mixed with seltzer water... a healthy version of soda

The T2i is an incredible deal at the current prices... my 7D is not enormously better than my T2i. I had a tough decision whether or not to keep the 7D. I kept it but it did not completely replace the T2i:)

I've been renovating my 500px and getting rid of a lot of junk images. I've gone through my first LR catalog and chosen the best to go up. Here are some of my favorites. I believe these were previously posted in the T2i/550D thread, but since spring cleaning my 500px, the links are probably all buggered.

The worst thing about 500px, is having to manually convert the html embed code to bbcode. And the worst thing about POTN, is that I have 8 images above, if I add a smiley, it says I have 9 and I have to remove it. 8)

Don't get me wrong... the 7D is leaps and bounds better than the T2i in some ways. Ergonomics (this is huge for me), AF flexibility, microfocus adjust, rugged build, customizable, 8 fps, much higher buffer, etc. But I place a very high priority on IQ and you just can't tell which photos came from my 7D and which are T2i.

Judging by your portfolio (Flickr) I would think the microfocus is the only thing you'd really miss... even then it's probably better (but less convenient) to get your lens calibrated. If you are shooting for hours on end the 7D is a dream in my hands, lightyears above the T2i ergonomics. I don't know if your hands are shaped the same as mine...

I would say that waiting is probably a good choice for you. In many ways I wish I had done the same.

Exactly. The size and weight were the huge deciding factor for me, as was the fps. After getting it, I love the focus point selection by orientation, I've found it much easier to compose with 19 focus points. But, yeah, I agree, it's not that it's all that much better quality, but just some more features that may, or may not, be useful to some people.

I love it... it's hard to capture cats and dogs because they aren't really interested in what you're doing. Generally, they sit still long enough for you to focus and compose, then move as you hit the shutter. Kind of like they're saying, "Got you again! Hahahaha!"

As far as being as good as other's... just play and experiment to see if you can emulate a style you like. The only thing that counts, is whether the image is what you (or your client, if in business) wants. If that is satisfied, you're good. You can turn image editing on, in your control panel, and we can throw some edits up as well, to see if anything grabs ya.
