A 70-200 2.8 II, mostly shot at 200mm. It was easy for me to get close to the birds, so I didnt need more length.

love your photos.. where do you shoot the birds? i asked on your flickr, but please tell me that you DO add some color enhancement to your photos......or are L lenses that good..... -_-

I wonder... how different would these photos have been if it was the much less expensive 70-200 f4L....... a little less creamy bokeh? possibly just as good for the shots you took of the birds--but not as good for more macro stuff like insects?

I notice most 7D owners with ef lenses. Trying to decide and like the 17-55 ef-s. Wanting to replace my old kit lens 18-135. I have a tamron 70-300 and the ef-s 17-55 seems like a great idea.

Thoughts? Is that what you have?

I have a Flickr account HERE (external link) my name IS Chris & these are ALL my images. My Avatar name and Flickr name are confusing people ???<shrug>

17-55 is the single best lens for a 7d, 10-22 follows pretty close behind.

Hi Geek, yes I own the 17-55 lens. Great lens! The image quality and performance is right up there with the other L designated lenses. You can't go wrong with it.

Rob: great shot! It's cool you are going back to share some older shots.
