You can have the best DSLR in the world but if you don't have it with you at the time an iPad will always produce a better picture :)

note: the iPad does a surprisingly good picture relative to the camera spec.

My iPad 3 is no 7D but outside in good light it's ok, not going to make any award ceremonies but passable as a snapshot of life :)
