Where is this taken...I just spent 15 minutes looking thru my Peterson's guide and couldn't find this one. Either I'm blind or this is not in the states.


One day I was walking on the street and somebody handed me a camera. I looked at them and said, "This is not a Canon, what do I look like? A charity case?" So I took it, and THREW IT ON THE GROUND!

it was taken in a park in Spain, but I'm sure the bird is foreign, it looks too exotic to belong to these lands

I would guess some sort of starling. Looks a bit like the Superb Starlings I saw in Africa but I don't know if they migrate to Europe or not.

I guess it's in here not because of a migration. It was too used to be near humans so my guess is it escaped from a cage, or exhibition or pets shops or similar. Not far from the park there is a zoo, so it even could come from there

I can't ID it but its great colours, looks like a kingfisher has been muddledup with a blackbird...
