Yes, I'm using my Samyang 35mm lens WITHOUT a 'focusing screen'.

Just placed my order for my Samyang 35mm 1.4. So anyone else using this without a focusing screen?

Liveview and 5x zoom on LCD for me. 10x if shooting static objects.
Works great for me.

I started a 365 project three days ago (to keep track of my year of studying abroad in the USA upcoming year). As this is my favorite lens (by far), expect to see a lot of my stuff posted in here ( :) ), as I'll post everything from my flickr taken with this lens on here as well. Check it out if you like. I'm really stoked to be starting this. I've wanted to do this for some time and now I have a really good cause. Also really looking forward to shoot every day.

Very cliché shot of the downtown Manhattan skyline, but I'm not too mad at how it came out.

I usually don't shoot concerts, but a buddy of mines band had a local gig so I shot some photos for them! they're a mathrock band (think Maps & Atlases or This Town Needs Guns, or Piglet) I decided to put together a nice facebook cover photo for them, check them out here http://browniemountain.bandcamp.com (external link) and http://www.facebook.com/BrownieMountain (external link)

Note: I'm almost 100% sure these are all with the 35 1.4, but one or two of them may be the 50 1.4 as I was switching off

Holy **** Jimmy! Amaaaazing stuff. I'm embarassed posting something after this. Great, great job. Especially the first one is stunning. I don't know how you did the lighting, but it's awesome.

Not for my 365 project, but just a pic I like of my good friend (and (hopefully to be 'real') brother in law) Paul.

I really appreciate it, bro! I honestly feel the same way anytime i post something in this thread simply because of all the amazing work (yours especially included). Funny story about the lighting, the only lighting that i had in the whole shot was a street light that was about 8 feet away and the oncoming headlights of a car coming towards us down the road for both of the shots :p

here's one last shot from the 350 shoot:

Some portraits with my new Sammy 35, no focus screen used, just Liveview x5 on a 600D.
I really love this lens....amazingly sharp with deep, rich colors and a dramatic look all its own.
