Back from my sisters wedding out in Italy last weekend. Italian photographers don't give a stuff about anyone can see anything during the wedding just as along as they get the shot. I am sure they will be amazing photos, I had a good whip round with the camera to which was good an I knew everyone I was doing the hoarding of people for my shots then they jumped on the back of them. Anyway a superb day, great weather and far far far to much alcohol!
Little sis and her hubby....

Nice shot and glad you had a good time, main thing is your mum is happy with them

Evening all :D

The camera has not had too much of airing but when I can will share a Wood Mouse, Glenn Miller Orchestra and warmup act..............and Charlie Brown flying his Spitfire (oh boy have I gotten rusty taking aircraft in flight :( :( so few keepers! )

Oh good timing with your post as I found a bit of paper today where I had copied some info from the 'birders' that you might find interesting/useful re using the 7D. You might already know about this but I thought of you when I found it.

One of the bits was about the Highlight Tone Priority - comments were to 'disable' it - reason = quote: it "basically underexposes to give you more headroom with the highlights. One of the drawbacks is that it can increase the noise in certain areas as it pushes them back up to correct exposure" unquote.

Also the Auto Light Optimiser = turn off.

You may or may not already know about the above but thought it worth mentioning.

Linda

Hi Linda

Many thanks for the reprise and like you I have read that elsewhere and HTP & ALO are off :D For the record I do not like the camera to "takeover" when it comes to exposure and processing ;)

Just a point of reference I have been taking RAW+JPEG with the 7D most latterly (not done for a long while with the 40D!) and what is interesting bearing in mind I use Neutral Picture Style modified with Sharpening & Contrast set to the very lowest levels and a quick look in LR shows the in camera processing of the JPEG as highly efficient at noise suppresion!!!! Now I have no wish to start using Canons DPP so still on the road of mastering RAW settings for the 7D...............continues, will get there in the end

Oh, a doh! moment on Sunday the mode dial slipped to P mode and I failed to spot the begger :( If only they would make a click lock on the mode dial i.e. press centre button to turn it :)

Ah! I have shopped in there for lunch on the odd occasion when in Maidenhead.

I did not know the Anderson studio was in Slough. I did like the Supermarionation they did from Supercar, Fireball XL5, Thuinderbirds etc............the days of my childhood

I have been alternating between Neutral and Faithful - cant decide yet which I like best as there is not a lot between them lol.

Good moaning. Nothing much going on up here in Northampton today. Saw the torch last week when it was up this way. Probably the closest I'll get to any Olympic events.
