And to update you about the 70-200 4 IS , after they refunded my money because my paypal wasn't confirmed , i verified it and re-ordered the lens . this morning they re-refunded (:D) the money , because they asked for a confirmed address not a verified account , i didn't know there's such a thing as a confirmed address , i checked my paypal account and realized that the shipping address i used for the lens was not confirmed because i used "east" in english , instead of "est" in french . UNBELIEVABLE ! now i'm gonna have to wait till next week till the money is refunded to my credit card before i can re-re-order the lens !

Using my 85mm at night , i usually miss(need) the IS , and i'll be needing it more at 200mm and according to Canon the IS is worth 4 stops (even if it's actually 3 ) + I don't really care for the extra dof for street photography , i'd rather have the IS .

i like the way you composed these , have you been taking more time on the composition before actually pressing the shutter lately ? or is it just the learning curve ? or both :D ?

Michel - that sucks about the paypal thing. I hope the third time is the charm. Good choice on the IS.

Peter - Outstanding shots! I hope I can go get some this weekend.

Thank you I was actually kind of in hurry because this bridge is privately owned and don't want to get caught.

I got my 1Diii and used it a bit tonight just to get familiar with it. I was surprised at how well the T2i prepared me for the 1D. I read the manual (pdf) on my flights for vacation last week, knowing the camera would be here when I got back. I was able to pick it up, customize it, and get a feel for it very quickly. It has an impressive array of settings to customize things like AF points/speed/processing priority, etc.

We'll see how it goes. I'm certainly keeping the T2i and plan on using it for a lot of stuff, but I think my 70-200 is going to stay on the 1D for the foreseeable future.

Oh, and 10FPS sounds like an assault rifle (external link).

I don't want to bring you down from from your high but here is what 30 FPS sounds like (external link)... they sequentially linked 3 1Diiis to capture Barry Bonds' record breaking home run.
