Thank you! All the vignetting was from welding glass. Thanks! Thank you. +133 on tint in LR3 Fuji X100S, Canon 550D, Kit, Canon 85 1.8, Sigma 35 1.4 and Samyang 8mm.

Isn't the idea of a ND filter (of whatever sort, welding glass being your DIY choice) to stretch the shutter? You probably didn't really need to use the glass on this shot if you were at 1600 ISO... could've shot at 100 ISO and a decently long shutter speed? I mean that's only what, 4 stops, opposed to maybe the 9 glass would give you I guess... but just curious Freelance Photographer focusing on Sports - Currently located in Spokane, WA.

I'd love to tag along with you to some of the places you see. I especially like #3 from the set you just posted. The colors all work very well together and the sky looks great. FYI- for those of you thinking about the 40mm pancake... here is my first "real" shot with it. Nothing special, I just grabbed a bookend off my shelf and pressed him into service. The detail resolution is excellent at f/2.8 and fabulous at f/4. The T2i is tripod mounted and manually focused using live view x10. Of course these are strobed so the lighting is idealized. I will do some real world testing very soon. It looks promising. If nothing else I have a great lens for studio stuff. The resolution on this guy is better than my Sigma 50 f/1.4 and I'm fine with that. The Sigma fills a different role. ![]() ![]() 40mm test ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 40mm crop ![]() ![]() This second shot is a 1024 x whatever crop from the original image. You are viewing a true 100% crop SOOC (well, converted to JPEG in DPP but everything else is SOOC) EDIT: WHAT HAPPENED!?!?! It looks so much better in DPP than on Flicker or POTN. Anyway, it still doesn't look bad but it definitely looks a smidge better in DPP, even in JPEG form. I'll try to figure it out eventually... maybe... Thanks....and with that 40mm pancake lens wow.
