Here is a picture from a shoot yesterday. I should have some hi ISO shots this weekend. This one was with 1DX/135F2

The full sized file can be seen here (external link).

[Edit: These were processed through DPP with default sharpness camera settings for portrait but DPP was set to "unsharp mask" which I have since changed to the legacy "sharpness". The one attached looks a little oversharpened to me.]

Erik

Thanks for posting kitty. Thats EXACTLY what i wanted to see. From your shots and a few others Im seeing about a stop over the MKIV, which is what my rep told me in February. Definately not 2 as some claim. Looks like its just a bit better than the 5D3. Maybe a 1/2 stop. Looks like a great camera. Have fun with it

How bright is the rink
How on earth do you manage such a high shutter speeds with an iso of only 640 ?

Most of the rinks I shoot at f/2.8 and iso 3200 I can only manage between 1/500 and 1/800

It is a unique arena. It is in West Edmonton Mall under a dome of skylights. If you look at the pics or at least one of them, you can see sunlight.

QUOTED IMAGE

I quite like the quality of the noise as ISO 25600. It has a nice film grain quality to it. Much nicer than the 5D2. IMO.
