I picked up a Bastinelli (external link) Raptor GT6 at the Blade Show in Atlanta this weekend.

Very cool, Mark!

Thanks for stopping me at the show and introducing yourself. It was great meeting you.

Just seen on the Gizmodo website. Cool new rescue knives. I'm not a volunteer fireman anymore and not in the rescue business, but that's a nice looking tool.

I use a 48" machete

Of course, since it is so big, I needed a larger camera bag than my Domke F2. When I filled up the larger camera bag I couldn't lift it. So I got a rolling bag but, couldn't fit it in the trunk of my Smart Car. So I sold the smart car and bought a big truck. But, it used too much gas so I downsized to a Smart Car again. I couldn't fit my roller bag in the Smart Car so I went back to a Domke F2 bag. But, I still couldn't fit the 48" machete into this bag.

All of a sudden I realized that I really don't need a 48" machete, my Leatherman Micro can do everything I need to do.

LIFE IS HELL, AIN'T IT?

Nope. Actually, it's an Emerson CQC-7, with a blade ground from a blank by my friend and awesome knifemaker, Jeremy Horton of Camden, TN.

Just remember to remove your knife or Leatherman before you head out on an airplane trip ... or you will sadly have to throw it in the trash or collection bin at security!:o:cry:

Had to run back to my car one time after I realized my swiss knife was in the camera bag. Glad that I had time to spare.

I carry a SOG power assist multitool for work and much of the time at home. I always have my kershaw ken onion in my pocket.

I retired the SBT and got this one as an EDC. Man, this holds an edge like nothing else!
