Hi Guys- I've been researching the 52mm drop in CPL filter for the Great Whites and I have noticed that there appears to be very vague and limited information out there, but there does seem to be two distinct part numbers.

One is listed as #4774B001, the other as #2585A002.
The latter seems to be an older stock number. Does anyone know what the difference (if any) there is?

Thanks-
Kev

I believe they changed the frame colour to match the MkII telephotos.

Thanks bob. I thought might be the case. I wonder if there are any optical differences?

I received my PL-C yesterday from B&H. There are no part numbers on the box, the documentation or the PL-C itself. It is a WII model - whatever that means.

The colour is reasonably matched to my 400/4DO - perhaps slightly more grey than the lens but that could be slightly different illumination.

If it helps, Canon previously supplied a 48mm drop in filter - I think these were intended for the 200/1.8L to 500/4.5L generation of lenses (i.e. the pre-IS days.)

Several cameras and more glass than I will admit to.

Just to provide some information on the two part numbers: So Canon tells me there is no optical difference, only a color difference (slight) between the two. I managed to pick one up used at B&H (Supposedly a 9+ on their scale) for $139 shipped. Not too bad, but still pricey. Hopefully its in as good a shape as they say.
Thanks for the help.
Kev
