LINK to Sigma website (external link)
This lens was announced six months ago but this is the first time I see solid specs on it.

180mm and 2.8= Great
OS= Even better
Expected price: $1699
Availability: by the end of the month (July 27)
IQ and AF we will have to wait and see.
Let the speculation begin!

Was hoping the price would be a bit lower. I will probably end up getting the 150mm.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

OK, so it has been on the street for two days now. Anyone got one? Not showing on Amazon, but is available and in stock from Adorama and B&H, for example, at the expected street price ($1699).

Pics, I need pics!

I went to both sites, and they both basically say that it is a new item but no idea when delivery date will be. Where did you hear it was now available?

When I posted it was available ("in stock") and could be added to my cart. I just added it to my cart at Adorama, for example. Free Super Saver shipping too, if I wanted.

At Adorama it still has "This is a new item and not in stock yet. Currently we do not have a scheduled delivery date from the manufacturer
Please Note: You can place this item on order and as soon as it arrives we will ship it
We do not charge your card until we actually ship the product"

Since you ordered it, I hope you're right and you get it in a few days to a week.

If you get lucky and it comes soon, test it out. Come back here and post some pictures and give us a review.

Oh, I didn't order it (want to read reviews, watch prices etc, first), just added it to my cart and proceeded to checkout to check shipping costs. Nothing said it wasn't yet in stock when I got the point where they take my CC number.

Do you get that statement after placing the order, or sometime beforehand? Just curious...

That's the Nikon model, which I wasn't looking at. I was looking at the Canon model, which seems to be in stock here (external link).

So if you want the Canon version (and why else would you be here on POTN), that's the one you want.

I could be wrong, but I though off brands (Sigma, Tamron, etc...) basically release all mounts at the same time.

All mounts but the Canon have that statement.

I'm thinking I maybe wrong with this assumption.

But, If someone had it, even after a couple of days you would think a real review would show somewhere.

I hope you are right and they are finely available, I've been waiting for a review of this lens.

I found a fairly comprehensive-for-my-uses review here:

http://fstoppers.com …gma-180mm-f2-8-macro-lens (external link)

I also found a review of this lens on a (South) Korean site:

http://lcap.tistory.com/ (external link)

The photos/images basically tell the story.

This lens looks pretty good, and seems to differ from the experiences posted on:

http://www.butterfliesandwildlife.com/ (external link)

Linked from a thread/post here at POTN by the blogger on the subject lens:

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1214750

Any other impressions out there?
