I got mine off Amazon. It was $8, and i have to say, for the money it is extremely high quality. The thing is light as air, machined very well with perfect threads (including within the hood for reflection dissipation, and though I can't say I was experiencing any issues with flares before the hood, its nice to know its protected while offering me the best contrast possible in every situation. I have since eschewed my lens cap in normal usage. Way more convenient...

It takes 58mm lens caps on the front, so that is a bonus as well.

Testing the new lens. Images are untouched:

Is that Sake you are warming up? If so, they make special warming decanters for that with less risk of burning the sake ;)

Sorry for the derailment

I'm still a rookie at it. No local stores have a decanter and such. I need to order online. Thank you for the info buddy!

I picked up one of these 40mm hotcakes on my way home from work Friday and took it to the cottage as my only lens for the weekend. No stop AF issues that some are reporting, nice build quality for the money, extremely small which makes the camera less of a burden to always have with you, and when it nails focus nice and sharp/contrasty from wide open. This is a really great general purpose lens that enables you to have your camera with you as it doesn't get in the way. This would be even better if my camera could focus worth a damn (5d classic) ;) I think this will be the tool that makes me leave the Fuji X series at home and bring my DSLR finally for those day to day family/life shots.

Waiting on my pancake... Ordered it last Thursday I believe from Adorama. Just did the standard free shipping though, so it shipped UPS Smartpost or something. It arrived at my local UPS facility on Friday and today it has yet to move. If it were normal UPS ground it would of been delivered today once it reached that point. No big deal though, but I hope it comes tomorrow! Looking forward to it.
