Grrrr **** **** ****!!!

I hear you Peter. My 24-105 is reporting errors (broken cable by the sound of it) and my 5D has a big old scratch on the sensor.
I would much rather drop $1000 on a new toy than fixing the old ones... :(

Grrrr **** **** ****!!!
Am pretty pissed off!
As I mentioned earlier, my 7D stopped working reporting electrical errors.
I sent it in for a repair quote.
Just got the repair quote back.
€523.00 + Tax = €622,37 F.....ing Euro. And it is 2 months out of guarantee!!!
That is NZ$ 958.64 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't f..ing afford that!
I am so pissed off you can't imagine.
I haven't even dropped the camera or done anything to it. It just stopped working doing what it was made for!
F..ing Canon Crap!
I bought it because my 40D stopped working and I had spent €500.00. on repairs, which didn't fix a problem.
I bought that because my 350D Died.

I'm just not having any luck with my cameras.

That sucks. I dropped my 7D 1m onto concrete when it was new, cost $600 to replace some bits and recalibrate. I dropped my 40D's a couple of times, cost about $500 to fix each time.

My D700 with a 24-70 fell off the car roof onto rocks, worked fine, small scratch. Another time it rolled 4m down a hill with a 16-35 attached, including a 1m drop onto hard packed dirt, it worked fine with no marks. In my experience Nikon camera are more robust... and sexier. But the controls aren't as intuitive as Canon.

In summer we'll have a BBQ at my place... after I buy a BBQ... place is big enough though. Probably not suitable for a large group in winter, but I'll come out for pizza.

ok peeps - let's get it together!!! What night suits? Tuesday? Wednesday? I'll book a table at 'the' place to be for the usual beer and pizza. I have SUCH a busy socal life :p that I can pretty much make any night  so give us some feedback on suitable nights and numbers for say two weeks out ...

Yeah?

Thanks guys.
We don't have a consumers act over here, or not as good as the one in N.Z.
I guess I'll just have to go out and try to sell my body or something to make enough money to get it repaired. :(

I'm not sure what the shutter count is, I haven't found how you can read it out of a 7D. But I suspect it is pretty high.

I still use my 350D (as a sacrificial body/remote type camera)

Contents claim is the way I'd be going Peter

In other news, I knew my wife working for EMD would be a mistake. She drove home the equivalent of 4 Canon 1Dx's tonight, thinks she's going to sell it on at a margain, Year Right:rolleyes:

Aug 3 is possession date, but........... to be shifting without any business interruptions, I want to be able to send orders away friday morning and then be up and running in time to send orders away on the following Monday. So far I am the only one who thinks its going to happen, but I am a stubborn bastard :)

I'm sure you'll be fine, get the organization right, have one person in charge (yourself) & you'll get it done.

I going down there but it's this weekend, otherwise I'd give you a hand (insert Tui add here!)

Bloody hell Chrissie, where are all the Wellingtonians when you want them!? I can't do Tues, and Weds are cool with a bit of warning.

Cheers, Dave.
