The joust - these guys do something of a circuit of medieval fairs around the world charging each other in armour with traditional rules, real contact and shattering lance points. C&C welcome.

Well the red clad jousters in the first couple of shots suffered a blow when the lance slid under his shield into the groin area... He stayed on the horse but ended up hanging low across it's neck for a long stretch;)

Mmm... those blades are dull, right?

Nice set, I think #4 would have had more impact if you had focused on the rider getting hit.

thanks Joel - not as dull as you might think! And I agree on 4 I tried following riders from each end but it was always a bit hit and miss ....literally

Don't have EXIF viewer so not sure what your DOF was, but would suggest increasing it so that you can get both riders in focus when they meet.

my thoughts too after the fact - I should have chimped some more to see how I was doing. I wanted separation from the background crowd, but should have been using F7.1 or F8 instead of f5.6. Ah well live and learn:)

I'm glad I saw this as I said I would go to a jousting event this summer. One not too far from me in England this coming Sunday. Fingers crossed for the weather.
